Wastewater Upgrade Project Informational Meeting of the Board

The District Board of Directors will be meeting with Engineer Craig Nowak of Morrison Maierle 6:30 PM on March 2nd, 2021 at the District Office for an "Informational Meeting" to discuss issues regarding the Geotechnical Engineering Report for the Sun Prairie Village Wastewater Treatment Lagoon Improvements Project.
The engineer has been discussing the issues with the Rural Development funding agency and the following questions have arose:
FOUR QUESTIONS FOR PROJECT COST OVERRUNS
1. What specifically caused the need for additional funds, and how much for each item?
2. Document this is still least cost alternative compared to original alternatives plus any new ones. Verify it is in planning area in the original project planning area / environmental review.
3. What can the owner do to reduce the cost overrun / what can be deleted?
4. What does the Owner plan to do to bridge the remaining shortfall? What is the timeline? Are there any other options for additional funds?
This meeting is strictly to discuss these questions, no motions or resolutions will be made until the Regular Monthly Board Meeting on March 9th, 2021.
